You can buy Octopus at 7-11, MTR stations and other convinces stores when you arrived Hong Kong.
You also can use Octopus App on you mobile phone and link with you bank card to use public transportation when you arrived Hong Kong.
China Alipay and WeChat pay have the public transportation 乘車碼 to scan the QR code machine when you take the MTR and the bus.
